This is a story inspired by the largest single rescue operation of Ally pilots behind enemy lines in the history of the world's aviation, known as "Operation Halliard". In the summer of 1944, led by the Yugoslav Army in the Homeland and under the command of General Dragoljub Mihailović, from an improvised airport in the village of Pranjani at the foot of the ,Suvobor mountain the Serbian people saved 508 American and other Ally pilots from certain death.

Radoš Bajić wrote the script together with Dušan Kovačević and Strahinja Madžarević.

The key roles are played by Petar Božović, Žarko Laušević, Nela Mihailović, Radovan Vujović, Nikola Rakočević, Vučić Perović and Milan Vasić.

Heroes of Halyard / Heroji Halijarda is produced by Serbian Contrast Studios and Telekom Srbija. Nedeljko Bajić, Jelena Bajić Jočić and Predrag Jočić are the executive producers. Film Center Serbia supported the project in July 2020 with a production grant of 442,173  EUR / 52 m RSD. The project is also supported by the Provincial Goverment of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

The film is scheduled to be filmed in two stages, in 2021 and 2022, and it is expected to premiere during the spring of 2023.

The TV series The Air Bridge / Vazdušni most is produced by Telekom Srbija and Radio television of Serbia – RTS.
