Before being selected to L’Atelier, OUT had already participated in MIDPOINT 2013, pitch and feedback KVIFF 2013, BES’T EAVE 2013, NCN Roma 2013 and Sofia Meetings 2015.
Slovak producer Marek Urban, who is also this year’s Slovak Producer on the Move, told FNE: "We are in the period of preparation for shooting at the moment. Work of scriptwriters has been finished. We are correcting tiny nuances with the director and the main character, casting the other characters, and getting ready for location scouting. At the same time, we are trying to complete the basic financial plan conditions so we can start shooting. Despite the quite complex coproduction structure we are still opened to potential Polish coproduction." The film is currently a Slovak/Hungarian/French/Latvian/Czech coproduction.
OUT is a story of a 50 years old man, living his calm, or rather boring life in a small city in Eastern Slovakia. Suddenly he looses his job. Besides trying to find a job in Latvia he is following his dream to fish on the see, to catch a big fish.
OUT is coproduced by sentimentalfilm (Slovakia), Mirage Film Studio (Hungary) through Andrea Taschler, Arizona Productions (France) through Guillame de Seille, Film Angels Studio (Latvia) through Ivo Ceplevics, endorfilm (Czech Republic) through Jiri Konečný.
The estimated budget of this film is 1.2m EUR. Production is planned for October 2015 and the premiere is planned for 2016.
The project received support from the Slovak Audiovisual Fund.
