BRATISLAVA: Following its presentation at the European Film Market and Marche du Film, Ivan Ostrochovský’s debut feature Koza has been sold to Germany and the ex-Yugoslavian territories.

The young German sales company Pluto Film sold it to the German television channel WDR and to Slovenian distribututor Cenex FIVIA for the teritorry of ex-Yugoslavian countries.

Koza  tells the story of Peter "Koza" Baláž, a former Olympic boxer who steps back into the ring for money after learning about his whife’s pregnancy. The film features Peter Baláž, an Atlanta Olympic Games participant and Ján Franek, a Moscow Olympic Games participant, who plays the coach.

The film was produced by sentimentalfilm and endorfilm, in coproduction with Czech TelevisionRTVS and Punkchart Films. It had its world premiere at the 2015 Berlinale, going on to win several awards at festivals worldwide.

Patricie Pouzarová from Pluto Film said, "Pluto Film is specialized in distribution of arthouse and crossover films, and our goal is to bring them to worldwide audiences. In the first place we concentrate on film festival distribution, since a festival circulation of a film is an important reference for distributors. Koza is a good example of such a film. It is a great festival film and the festival record, beginning with the film's premiere at Berlinale Forum followed by participations and several awards in other festivals, helps a lot to attract potential buyers."
