The previous strong domestic success was Loli paradička directed by Richard and Víťo Staviarsky, which had 20,550 admissions and 116,352 EUR gross on its opening weekend (20-21 July 2019).

The New Year´s Kiss is set in the romantic winter landscape of the High Tatras mountains in Slovakia. Through a number of comic and romantic situations, the story demonstrates that love has many forms, but reaches everyone eventually.

Adriana Kronerová is the author of both the story and the script. The main characters are played by popular Slovak actresses Táňa Pauhofová, Emília Vášáryová and Gabriela Marcinková.

The New Year´s Kiss was produced by INOUT Studio and supported with 136,860 EUR by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund.

Continental film released it in 15 Slovak cinemas.
