FNE at Art Film Fest: Kronerova to Receive Art Film Award

    BRATISLAVA: Slovak actress Zuzana Kronerová will receive the Actor's Mission Award at Art Film Fest (www.artfilmfest.sk), taking place 17-25 June 2011 in Trenčianske Teplice and Trenčín, Slovakia. The Golden Camera Award will go to Slovak costume designer Milan Čorba. The festival's 19th edition celebrates Slovak film with its opening night screening of Berlinale success, House (Dom) by young Slovak director Zuzana Liová. In addition the international jury will be presided over by legendary Slovak auteur Juraj Jakubisko.

    Also receiving the Actor's Mission Award are Hungarian actor János Bán and Czech actor/screenwriter Zdeněk Svěrák, while the Golden Camera Award will also be presented to Serbian director Emir Kusturica, and the Oscar-winning French screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière.

    The festival's line-up of 194 films includes nine award-winners from the recent Cannes film festival. Seven full and mid-length films and 33 shorts from Slovak will screen in the Slovak Season section. The festival also hosts the second edition of MIDPOINT, a script-development workshop for recent graduates of film schools in Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
