FESTIVALS: Eleven Films Compete at LIFFe

    The 22nd Ljubljana International Film Festival, (http://en.liffe.si) held in Slovenia's capital city from 9-20 November has announced the competition lineup for its main competitive programme Perspectives. The 11 films from 10 countries will compete for the festival's Kingfisher award.

    The festival will also award an Audience award, a Short Film Award and a FIPRESCI critics award.

    The programme also features a Panorama section, a Focus on Young Greek Cinema, a Focus on Finnish Classic Cinema, A David Cronenberg Retrospective, and a number of other screening sections.

    The festival is supported by the Slovenian Film Center.

    The following films screen in the main competition:

    Alpeis directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. Greece

    Attenberg directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari, Greece

    Die Vaterlosen diected by Marie Kreutzer, Austria

    Finisterrae directed by Sergio Caballero, Spain

    Izlet directed by Nejc Gazvoda, Slovenia;Production company: PERFO Production (www.perfo.si)

    Vete mįs lejos Alicia directed by Elisa Miller, Mexico

    Tomboy directed by Céline Sciamma, France

    Todos tus muertos directed by Carlos Moreno, Columbia

    Take Shelter directed by Jeff Nichols, USA
