Producer Danijel Hočevar from production company Vertigo/Emotionfilm (www.emotionfilm.si) told FNE, "This will be the first Slovenian film that will have such a wide distribution on the American market, where it is very hard to break through with foreign films. A Call girl will be show in all major cities in a variety of theatres, such as art houses and others." The film will be shown with english subtitles.
During the last year, Kozole's film was shown at 16 film festivals (including Toronto, London, Montreal, and Sao Paulo) and will be screened at Rotterdam, Munich, Santa Barbara, and Cleveland in 2010. Festival attention was primarily given to the main actor Nina Ivanišin, who received awards for her debut performance in a full-length feature film.
This is the second cooperation between Vertigo/Emotionfilm and Film Movement. Previously Kozole's film Spare Parts was released on DVD by Film Movement. An American DVD release of A Call Girl in planned for July 2010.
