Two Turkish productions competing in Eurasia festival

    Two Turkish productions are included within the competition section of International Eurasia Film Festival this year.

    Egg, the first film of the trilogy of Semih Kaplanoğlu, was screened in the Directors' Fortnight at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival,

    An upcoming new star featured in the film, Saadet Aksoy, won the "Best Actress" award at the 2007 Sarajevo Film Festival.

    Also in the competition is Handan İpekçi's latest feature Hidden Faces. It is based on the issue of honour crimes in Turkey and focuses on the murder of a woman by members of her family who do not approve of her sexual behaviour.

    The third International Eurasia Film Festival begins Oct. 19.
