    A tragicomedy about an 11-year-old boy whose parents die in a car accident. The boy refuses to mourn; instead, he gets to know adults with deceitful lives. The boy changes all of their destinies and ends up with a new but different kind of family.

    PRINCESS OF EGYPT (EGYPTIN PRINSESSA)

    Marja, 27, is a single mother. She works at nights delivering newspapers and spends days taking care of her daughter Julia, 7. It’s August and Julia is supposed to start school, but for some reason Marja has problems letting her go.

    One day on a street they meet Kamaran, a Kurd emigrant and Marja’s old flame. Kamaran turns out to be Julia’s father who’s never even known that he has a daughter.

    As Julia starts to realize, who this strange man is, Marja turns more and more possessive. And as racist tendencies grow amongst her colleagues Marja decides to get an illegal gun. Just to make sure that her daughter will not be taken away from her.
