The screenings of the films seeking US distribution will take place during the American Film Market (AFM) from 1 to 7 November and target international buyers, selected press and Academy members. The screening series, taking place for the fifth time, is supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the respective EFP member organisations.
The films have been submitted by the respective EFP members and represent a selection of European highlights of the year – most of them have been given awards at festivals, by critics and audiences and have garnered enthusiastic reviews in the international media. Giving the entries maximum exposure in this crucial time in Los Angeles, attracts the kind of awards season attention which often leads to wide international distribution.
