Jury President Beryl Koltz commented on the verdict of the Jury: "We have decided to award a film in which a divorced father, despite his best efforts, finds himself in an inextricable family situation... We have chosen to award the Grand Prix CinEast 2012 to this film for the numerous outstanding qualities that it reunites: masterful directing, claustrophobic atmosphere that keeps the audience in suspense, extraordinary real-time narration, very realistic psychology of characters, remarkable work with actors, tragicomic feel that at times turns into truly exhilarating moments.

Everybody in Our Family received the best Romanian feature film prize at the Transilvania International Film Festival 2012.
