Cinema City opens its 14th cinema in Romania

    Ploiesti is the 12th Romanian city with a Cinema City multiplex

    Yesterday Cinema City celebrated the gala opening of its multiplex in Ploiesti, Romania. The cinema will start operations on December 7. The cinema in Ploiesti has 12 halls with 2089 seats and it is 100% digital with maximum capacity for 3D projection. This is the 2nd CCI's cinema opened this year in Romania - in April 2012, Cinema City opened its multiplex with 8 halls and 1774 seats in the city of Constanta. The new cinema in Ploiesti is the first modern multiplex in the city.

    In Romania Cinema City has already 14 multiplexes with 134 screens in 12 cities: Bucharest (Cotroceni & IMAX and Sun Plaza), Iasi, Constanta, Timisoara, Ploiesti, Bacau, Cluj, Braila, Baia Mare, Arad, Turgu Mures and Constanta. Ploiesti is located in the north of Bucharest. It is the 9th most populous city in Romania.

    Romania is the country, where Cinema City progresses with the most intensive organic growth of its cinema circuit. The Company has many more binding lease agreements signed for cinemas located in shopping centers. The next two openings in Romania are scheduled for 2013.

    In nine months of 2012 Romanian operations generated EUR 17.6 million (increase by 10,7% over 9M2011), which were 8,95% of the Company's total revenues in 9M 2012. In Romania Cinema City sold 3.0 million tickets during the nine months of 2012 (increase by 14% over 9M 2011). In addition to the theatre operation, the Company also runs cinema-related businesses: cinema advertising through New Age Media and film distribution through Forum Film Romania, which is the exclusive distributor of Walt Disney Studio, and other independent studios.

    Cinema City International is the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. The Company operates 98 multiplexes with 952 screens, in 7 countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Israel). There are 30 more multiplexes under development, which will offer almost 320 new screens. In addition, Cinema City is actively involved in cinema related advertising and film distribution.

    The Cinema City group employs over 4,000 people in 7 countries.
