Clouds Of Sils Maria to open WESTWIND in Moscow
The European film showcase WESTWIND will open in Moscow on 15 October (7:00 pm) with Olivier Assayas' star-studded film Clouds Of Sils Maria. The French-US co-production has Juliette Binoche and Kristen Stewart in the leads.
The second edition of WESTWIND from 15-19 October, 2014 sees European Film Promotion (EFP) presenting a diversity of European films and their talent to the public at Moscow's centrally located Formula Kino Horizont cinema. A jury of Russian film experts chose the WESTWIND line-up which is new to Moscow's film-goers and will also be interesting for the Russian market. WESTWIND is supported by the MEDIA Programme (2007-2013) of the European Union and the participating member organisations.
The screening programme of 11 films includes two Oscar® entries: Germany's Beloved Sisters by Dominik Graf and the Czech Republic's Fair Play by Andrea Sedlackova. Both have been selected as the national submissions for the Academy Award® for Best Foreign Language Film.
The following EFP member organisations support WESTWIND and have nominated their national film: Czech Film Center, Danish Film Institute, EYE International (The Netherlands), Finnish Film Foundation, Film Fund Luxembourg, German Films, Icelandic Film Centre, Macedonian Film Agency, Slovenian Film Centre, Swiss Films.
