Five years of immense fatigue repaid by a world premiere and two awards at Cannes. That is the journey of Salvo, an Italian debut film from Sicilian writers-directors Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza.
They will share their success story with the audience of 4th Visegrad Film Forum 2015 in Bratislava (11th – 14th March).
At VFF, Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza will join three-time Academy Award winning sound mixer Christopher Newman, independent programmer and adviser Ludmila Cviková and András Nagy, renowned Hungarian director of photography.
Salvo tells a story about a Sicilian mafia hitman, who spares the life of a blind sister of one of his victims, and his life becomes inextricably linked with hers. The film premiered in 2013 at La Semaine de la Critique of the Cannes Film Festival, winning both top prizes Grand Prix and Prix Révélation.
Ludmila Cviková will share insight into the world of film festivals. Given the current developments in the film industry, she is convinced that filmmakers can use “tailor-made” personal advice.
The most recent addition to VFF lineup is András Nagy, Hungarian director of photography known for his unique visual experiments and style.
Students of film schools and film enthusiasts are encouraged to sign up at www.visegradfilmforum.com.
The deadline for application is March 7th, 2015.
