For the fourth year in a row, Barrandov Studios is again opening the Barrandov Studios Villa (in the Interactive Gallery Becher´s Villa) during the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival .

Says Petr Tichý, the Vice-Chairman of the Barrandov Studios’ Board of Directors, “We will host some of the official festival industry events again this year.” Presentations of the projects in development Pitch and Feedback (organized by KVIFF, Czech Film Center and Slovak Film Institute) and Docu Talents from the East (organized by Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival) will take place in the Villa on Tuesday, July 7.

Barrandov Studios also acts as the partner of festival’s Works in Progress presentation (taking place on Monday, July 6).  On Tuesday, July 7 the winner of the Works in Progress Award will be announced during the Industry Party at the Grand Hotel Pupp. According to Petr Tichý, who will personally hand over the award in Karlovy Vary, “The winner of the prize for the best presented project will receive a voucher for 10,000 euros in Barrandov’s services. Barrandov Studios follows the motto of ‘We make your creativity real!’ and we have always supported talented creators.” He goes on to add, “The films that have received this award are being regularly screened at prestigious festivals, such as the Berlinale, as well as returning to Karlovy Vary IFF.”
