Father of phenomenal creatures as a host on VFF 2017!

Colin Arthur is the legendary British creator of make-up and special effects for the films from an era when computers did not exist. Coming from a family where arts and crafts was a common thing Arthur has begun creating his first sculptures. This lead to a job at the museum of wax figurines at Madamme Tussauds. Than he "escaped" into the world of film industry and started his 50-year long career with an epic science-fiction film directed by Stanley Kubrick - 2001: A Space Odyssey where he contributed with original masks for Apes. Arthur worked on film classics as Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977), Clash of the Titans (1981) or Conan the Barbarian (1982). His biggest input in special effects department and also in cinematography is creation of Falkor the luckdragon and other creatures for Never Ending Story (1984).

    VFF 2017 talks important issues!

TV production is more and more interesting nowadays and traditional formats has begun to fade away as a consequence of modern forms of distribution. Festival will create open space for a discussion about specifics of a TV production. In cooperation with MIDPOINT we will talk about possibilities of these forms in current digital era. Alongside trending TV series, which are sometimes commencing to be better than actual film production. Not only by their narratives but also by their formal solutions.

Beside panel discussions we are assembling case studies of series connected with our hosts.
