Established in 1999, connecting cottbus (coco) is one of the leading international meeting points for film professionals in an East-West-European context, fostering co-production with a particular focus on East-West feature film projects. Generally speaking, coco invites all producers to apply for the established coco Pitch programme. Moreover this will be the first year that producers will have an opportunity to submit projects to a new programme, coco Work in Progress at our co-production market. Applications for both series can be submitted up until July 28th,2017.
Producers, sales agents, distributors, festival representatives, commissioning editors and financiers will also have also have an opportunity to reserve their places as guests without a project by submitting their application forms by October 14, 2017.
This year, connecting cottbus (coco) will enable ten pitch projects and four works in progress (WiP) to present themselves at the co-production market. An innovation at the 2017 edition of connecting cottbus will see the € 35,000 coco WiP Award, an in-kind prize sponsored by the German post-production company D-FACTO MOTION, being presented to a work in progress project. The €1,500 coco Best Pitch Award plus an accreditation to the 2018 Cannes Producers Network will go to the producer of the best pitch and is awarded by all of the industry participants. A jury of three industry representatives will award the €25,000 coco Post Pitch Award, an in-kind award donated by the German post-production house The Post Republic. The Midpoint Scholarship Award will enable one cocoLab project to develop its script by participating in our sponsor‘s Midpoint Feature Launch.
