Coming to Bratislava in April 17-21, with the editor of 12 Monkeys and other cult films Mick Audsley together with an extraordinary programme

The 7th edition of Visegrad Film Forum held at the Film and TV Faculty VŠMU will embrace the idea of a platform for networking, education and fun all gathered in one place within five amazing days.

Cut to the chase with the man behind the film magic

Well established film editor Mick Audsley was always interested in film and only by lucky accident he ended up in an “exciting place; where the power of filmmaking lies”. Straight from an editing room he brought pieces such as Interview with Vampire (1994), Twelve Monkeys (1995), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) and most recent Murder on the Orient Express (2017). After his graduation from the Royal College of Art where he started wandering around sound editing he has dedicated his life to cutting films. Later on he became a key collaborator of the director Stephan Frears with whom he has made more than 20 films together including notorious Dangerous Liasons (1988) and got awarded a BAFTA for editing The Snapper (1993). Moreover Terry Gilliam also relies on Audsley’s editing skills speaking of his work on Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus (2009) and latest The Zero Theorem (2013). He also worked on the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time which is another blockbuster directed by Mike Newell.

    Great partnership brings great opportunities

Starting this year Visegrad Film Forum is pairing up with the Association of Slovak Cinematographers. Closer cooperation foreshadows the main topic of the event, which is focus on the art of cinematography and reveals the purpose of workshop designated for young directors of photography. Thanks to our co-organizer we will soon be able to announce the name of another outstanding guest speaker.

    Network and Chill

The ability to connect the dots and get to know each other was always the core of this event and therefore film school encounters are cutting in on the action. Four film schools from the Visegrad region are partnering again to achieve this idea by student’s film screenings. Czech Republic will be represented by Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Poland will enter with students from University of Silesia in Katowice. Hungarian members are coming from The Academy of Drama and Film Budapest. Last but not least will be the co-organizer Film and TV Faculty VŠMU in Bratislava. Other four European film schools are coming soon.
