Ji.hlava at Cannes: Back to ”normal”?

The upcoming Cannes Docs at Marché du Film will host the unveiling of the fresh East West Index survey, which maps the representation of various regions at festivals worldwide. It will be followed by a discussion with EMERGING PRODUCERS entitled Back to “normal”? How the pandemic affected the unbalanced regional representation at film festivals (June 12 from 4PM at Marina Stage in the Riviera and online on Ji.hlava IDFF’s site and facebook). Ji.hlava’s director Marek Hovorka will be speaker of the Marché du Film’s Festivals Hub (July 8 at 10AM) and Cannes will also be the place where the 18 up-and-coming EMERGING PRODUCERS 2022 will be announced, so stay tuned!

Nominations for the Doc Alliance Award 2021

The programmers and directors of seven key European documentary festivals (CPH:DOX, Doclisboa, Docs Against Gravity FF, DOK Leipzig, FIDMarseille, Ji.hlava IDFF, and Visions du Réel) put their heads together to select significant documentary works that shined at their last editions. The visual of the jubilee 25th Ji.hlava was unveiled

This year's visual identity is an invitation to dream – because if we don’t, things would be rigid and mechanical. Courage and joy only grow out of dreams,” says Ji.hlava IDFF’s Director, Marek Hovorka. The Ji.hlava 2021 poster was unveiled this week in an orchard planted by the festival organizers two years ago in Jihlava. The visuals were created by the award-winning book graphic designer and artist, Juraj Horváth, who has been the author of the festival’s original graphic style for the last twenty years. Now, check out this year's Ji.hlava style
