The panel will take place at Haugesund Public Library on Thursday 24 August (13:00 – 14:15) and will centre on two case studies of Nordic titles and their distribution; Sick of Myself (Kristoffer Borgli, 2022) and Beautiful Beings (Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson, 2022). Speakers from Italy, UK, and The Netherlands will compare their release strategies, looking at aspects such as acquisition, marketing, press, release plans, audience reach and results theatrically and online, and how they adapted their tactics to suit their own region, also considering the important role of funding in these endeavours, with the help of the Norwegian and Finnish film funds.
Speakers:
Beatrice Moia - Wanted Cinema, Italy
Eva Zvedeniuk - Modern Films, UK
Hans Kok - Arti Film, The Netherlands
Hanne Merethe Okstad - Norwegian Film Fund, Norway
Jenni Domingo - Finnish Film Foundation, Finland
The session will be moderated by Michael Gubbins, journalist and media consultant.
