    On 6 October, at the awards ceremony hosted by Maciej Jakubczyk, Department Director of Young Horizons, and Viola Gabrielli, Head of Young Horizons Industry Programme, the winners of the 7th international co-production forum Young Horizons Industry were announced. The awarded projects were selected from 33 titles presented during two days of pitching.

    Young Horizons Industry, a three-day event gathered more than 300 representatives of the Polish and international film industry. The forum was held on 4-6 October at Kinoteka as an industry part of the Young Horizons Festival.

    In addition to presentations of projects in the development and work-in-progress stages, the programme included panel discussions on the distribution of films for young audiences, case study on a different perspective on development or a panel about immersive worlds and projects, as well as presentations and market screenings. The Focus on Docs section included a session on the production and distribution of films and documentary series for young audiences. The forum was also accompanied by the programmes: Producers LINK for emerging producers and Young Talents for students and graduates of film and art schools.

    Winners of the Young Horizons Industry 2023

    1st ORKA award

    Winner: “Princess Goldenhair”, Viktor Krištof, Jan Těšitel, Three Brothers Production

    –> PLN 30,000 for the in-kind award for a post-production and VFX services at ORKA

    2nd ORKA award

    Winner: “Electric Wonder”, Pavla Klimešová, Helium Film

    –> PLN 15,000 for a supporting service of ORKA in fundraising for co-production of a project with Poland

    The both ORKA awards were presented by Alicja Gancarz, Head of Development, ORKA.

    FIXAFILM award

    Winner: “Pucio”, Paulina Talarska, Rafał Skarżycki, EGoFilm

    –> PLN 30,000 for the in-kind award for a post-production and VFX services at FIXAFILM

    The award was presented by Magda Janowska, Postproduction Manager, FIXAFILM.

    Audiovisual Technology Center in Wrocław award

    Winner: “Big Bang Parade”, Annemie Degryse, Martyna Koleniec, Lunanime

    –> PLN 45,000 for the in-kind award

    The award was presented by Anna Szadkowska, Production Manager, Audiovisual Technology Center in Wrocław

    No Problemo Music award – two awards

    Winners: “Pucio”, Paulina Talarska, Rafał Skarżycki, EGoFilm; “Doggy Brawl”, Wojciech Stuchlik, Andrzej Duda, Under Ski Tower

    –> A free music license for songs from the Audio Network’s library for their production and its promotional materials without restrictions on time, territory or fields of use

    The awards were presented by Adam Romanowski, founder and CEO from No Problemo Music and Agnieszka Sękowska, General Manager, No Problemo Music

    m:brane award

    Winner: “Fabled”, Arnar Benjamin Kristjansson, Guðni Lindal Benediktsson, Zik Zak Filmworks

    CEE Animation Forum award

    Winner: “The Grimmsons”, Zofia Jaroszuk, Anna Zychowicz, Konrad K. Mrozik, Laniakea Pictures

    –> Direct access to out of competition presentations during CEE Animation Forum 2024 in the Czech Republic

    The award was presented on behalf of CEE Animation Forum by Jakub Karwowski, President of the Board from SPPA – Polish Animation Producers Association.

    Animarkt Stop Motion Forum award

    Winner: Natalia Durszewicz

    Audience Award for the Best Pitching

    Young Horizons is one of the key branches of the New Horizons Association. It is responsible for distributing and supporting high-quality films and series for young audiences. The Young Horizons brand includes several complementary areas: theatrical distribution (Young Horizons Distribution) and online distribution (Young Horizons VOD); film education for preschools and schools (Young Horizons Education); development and promotion of films and series in Poland and across the world (Young Horizons Industry); and the peak event of the year – The Young Horizons International Film Festival.

    Young Horizons Industry (formerly Kids Kino Industry) is the industry part of the Young Horizons International Film Festival.

    Each year, around 300 film professionals come to Poland to exchange ideas, share their experience, and develop new content for young audiences. Young Horizons Industry is a space where we help connect projects with potential co-producers, distributors, sales agents, broadcasters, and film funds.

    Besides the forum, Young Horizons Industry is a series of programmes and projects aimed at supporting and promoting film and series development for young audiences such as script development workshops and mentoring programmes for upcoming filmmakers.
