WEMW 2026 | A Closer Look at the Co-Production Forum

    LET'S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT OUR CO-PRODUCTION FORUM

    WEMW 2026 takes place from 18 to 20 January 2026 in Trieste (Italy) and offers a myriad of activities during its intense 3-day programme. Let's take a closer look at each of the main sections of the event, starting from one of its key initiatives.

    CO-PRODUCTION FORUM

    WEMW will select 20 projects in development (live-action features, creative documentaries and short animated projects), with special attention to the 2026 East & West spotlight countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
    All selected teams will have the unique opportunity to pitch their stories in front of more than 600 decision makers and film professionals from over 60 countries.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

    __Producers from Europe*, Latin America, Canada, USA are eligible to apply
    __Projects can be live-action features, creative documentaries, short animated projects in development/financing stage with 10% of the total production budget already in place
    __Projects must have international co-production potential

     

    SUBMISSION

    __Live-action features and creative documentaries applications must include:

    • online application form
    • treatment in English (max 5-8 pages)
    • financing plan/total production budget
    • teaser/visuals/mood board of the submitted project (optional for live-action features)
    • previous work(s) of the director

    __Short animation applications must include: 

    • online application form
    • treatment in English (max 5-8 pages) or script
    • financing plan/total production budget
    • teaser/animation test/visuals/art design/moodboard of the submitted project (if available)

    SUBMISSION FEES

    __Early-bird fee: € 0 (no fee) from 16 September until 10 October, 23:59 CET  
    __Last-minute fee: € 20 from 11 until 20 October, 23:59 CET    

    With the recent steady growth of submissions, this contribution allows us to maintain the usual standards, timing and dedication of our reviewing and selection process.

    AWARDS

    All selected projects will compete for two main cash prizes: the Film Center Serbia Development Award and the CICLIC WEMW Award (granted by the French Centre-Val de Loire Region). Thanks to the WEMW network of partners, the Co-Production Forum will also feature a series of other major awards, including EAVE Producers Workshop Scholarship, the Pop Up Film Residency Award, the Marché du Film Producers Network Badges,  the DAE Talent Development Prize, GoGo2025 Residency Award and the CEE Animation Award.
