The CEE Animation Workshop is tailor-made to suit the needs of producers and their creative teams who have animation projects of any format (short films, TV series, specials, feature films, hybrid films, XR) in development. Limited number of career-oriented participants without a project can attend the workshop and develop a long-term strategy for their career in animation. In 2026, for the first time ever, we are also welcoming trainees for script consultants in animation.
The programme is led by renowned producers and script consultants for animated films. As group leaders, they will closely accompany and supervise the participants throughout the duration of the programme. The CEE Animation Workshop 2026 will consist of four one-week modules, two of which will be organised online and two on-site in different European countries. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend the CEE Animation Forum 2026 in Czechia.
Project development programme
During the one-year training programme, participants will have the opportunity to further develop their scripts, practice the art of pitching and gain access to inspiring lectures by recognised professionals and detailed case studies of successful projects. Producers will be able to broaden their knowledge of the financial and creative aspects of animation production, deepen their expertise in areas such as co-productions, animation production management, financing and budgeting, developing business strategies, legal aspects of production, green animation, sustainability, marketing, festival strategy and even negotiation and conflict resolution.
Career-oriented participants programme
The career-oriented participants, who attend the one-year workshop as professionals without a project, are invited to join one of the project teams as shadow producers. They are expected to participate fully in all activities of the training, including individual counseling from experienced professionals in the animation industry, exploring options and next steps in their animation career.
Script consultants in animation programme
The two-year programme of script consultants in animation is an intensive and comprehensive training for individuals with a strong motivation for script consulting in animation as a possible career path. Participants are invited to shadow the professional script consultants and become fully involved in all activities of the training programme. They will gain access to detailed knowledge of the processes of writing, developing and creating animation projects. They will gain experience with short films, series and feature films in different genres, techniques and types, including animated documentaries. The participants will acquire practical skills in conducting script consulting and receive the insights and understanding of the entire animation production cycle from idea to distribution.
Networking opportunities
Two modules of the CEE Animation Workshop take place on-site in different European countries. While on-site, we organise Open Industry Day, which offers the networking opportunities between participants of the workshop and representatives of the local animation industry and foster further international co-operation.
The CEE Animation Workshop concludes with the final presentation of a complete production package and a pitch to a carefully selected group of industry players, such as representatives of funding organisations, broadcasters, producers, festival programmers, sales agents and distributors, in the form of one-to-one meetings. As the alumni of of the CEE Animation Workshop, participants can utilise the CEE Animation network and gain privileged access to various international industry and market events.
All participants will have the opportunity to attend the CEE Animation Forum 2026, receiving free badges and partial expenses covered. Since the event is the largest regional co-production market for animated films, it offers access to current animation production in development and international animation industry professionals.

Application Guidelines & Participation fee
The workshop is aimed at teams with a project in development (producer and scriptwriter and/or director/art director with an animation project of any format in development: short film, feature film, TV series, TV special, documentary, fictional projects, hybrid projects of XR projects), career-oriented participants without a project and trainees for script consultants in animation.
The participation fee for access to all four modules of the programme, online script consulting sessions, accommodation and meals (in the case of a residential workshop module) and participation in the CEE Animation Forum 2026 is:
For two (optionally three) participants with a project in development: 3.500,00 EUR
+ Conference fee of 300,00 EUR per team member for each on-site module
For one career-oriented participant without a project: 2.500,00 EUR
+ Conference fee of 300,00 EUR for each on-site module
For a trainee script consultant in animation: 6.000,00 EUR for 2 years (2026 & 2027)
+ Conference fee of 300,00 EUR for each on-site module
CEE Animation Workshop also offers a limited number of scholarships. Scholarships are prioritised to participants coming from countries with low production capacity (Group A or Group B) or from a country that does not offer scholarships for this type of training, or to participants from countries with a proven need for financial support.
