BRATISLAVA: The Colombian film Land and Shade directed by Cesar Augusto Acevedo won the Best Film and the FIPRESCI prizes at the 17th Bratislava IFF closing ceremony on 16 November 2015.
COTTBUS: In the heart of the only remaining Slavic region of Germany lies Cottbus, where for 25 years the Cottbus Film Festival has been keeping its Soviet-era ties alive, much as the city holds on to its Slavic past. Czech, Bulgarian and Austrian Films Selected for San Sebastian New Directors Competition

TALLINN: Estonian writer/director Anu Aun is working on The Polar Boy, the tale of a talented and promising young photographer who fakes bipolar disorder in order to avoid a prison sentence and discovers he must leave his destructive girlfriend.
TALLLINN: Latvian director Janis Nords is writing Survivalist, a drama of a schoolmaster who fakes his own death to escape mounting personal and financial pressures.
