PORTOROŽ: Slovenian female film pioneer Maja Weiss's documentary My Way 50 / My Way 50 – Med iskanim in najdenim svetom will be screened in the competition of the 21st Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (10-15 September 2018). Weiss received the Manfred Salzgeber Prize for the most innovative European film at the 52th Berlin IFF for Guardian of the Frontier (2002, Belafilm), the first Slovenian feature directed by a female director.

PORTOROŽ: Erased / Izbrisana will be screened in the competition of the 21st Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (10-15 September 2018). This gripping tale, which shows the anomalies of the Slovenian social system, is the first feature film from Slovenian award-winning writer Miha Mazzini.

PORTOROŽ: Sonja Prosenc’s sophomore film History of Love / Zgodovina ljubezni will be screened in the competition of the 21st Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (10-15 September 2018). The film received a Special Jury Mention in the main competition of the 53 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

PORTOROŽ: Peter Bratuša’s drama Awakenings / Prebujanja will be screened in the competition of the 21st Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (10-15 September 2018). The film stars Katarina Čas, who also played in The Wolf in Wall Street (2013) and Danny Collins (2015).

PORTOROŽ: Darko Štante’s youth delinquent drama Consequences / Posledice will be screened in the competition of the 21st Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (10-15 September 2018). This Slovenian/Austrian coproduction is Darko Štante’s debut feature and also the first feature film produced by Filmsko društvo Temporama, a company established in 2012 and aiming at encouraging young filmmakers.

PORTOROŽ: Miroslav Mandić’s black and white drama I Act, I Am / Igram, sem will be screened in the competition of the 21st Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (10-15 September 2018). This three-part story explores the interaction between the roles that actors and actresses play on stage or in front of the camera, and their impact on their private lives. The film is a Slovenian/Bosnian/Croatian coproduction.

PORTOROŽ: Urša Menart's debut feature My Last Year as a Loser / Ne bom več luzerka will be screened in the competition of the 21st Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (10-15 September 2018). The story is focused on a 29-year-old unemployed girl, who can’t seem to find her footing after the end of Slovenia’s long economic crisis.

LJUBLJANA: FNE spoke with Nataša Bučar, Head of the Slovenian Film Center, about achieved goals, challenges in developing domestic film industry, the future of Slovenian cinema and her personal taste in films.

PORTOROŽ: Sixteen feature films including eight documentaries will be screened in the competition of the 21st Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož, which will run from 10 to 15 September 2018. The Badjura Lifetime Achievement Award will go to the film director Tugo Štiglic.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Andrej Košak will start shooting his fourth feature film All Against All / Vsi proti vsem in September 2018. This Slovenian/Macedonian coproduction is a political thriller set in an imaginary small town under the Alps.
