LJUBLJANA: The Slovenian Film Centre has announced a total of 2.486 m EUR in production grants for four feature films, two long documentaries and two debut features.

PORTOROŽ: Gregor Božič’s debut feature Stories from the Chestnut Woods won the Vesna Award for best film at the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film, which ran in Portorož from 17 to 22 September 2019. The film won 11 Vesna awards and also the IRIDIUM award for first feature.

PORTOROŽ: Matjaž Ivanišin’s debut feature Oroslan / Oroslan will screen in the competition of the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (17-22 September 2019). This Slovenian/Czech coproduction is a drama about how death and memories affect peoples’ lives.

PORTOROŽ: Nejc Saje and Jeffrey Young's long documentary Pumpkin on the Hot Roof of the World / Buča na vroči strehi sveta will screen in the competition of the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (17-22 September 2019). This Slovenian/Czech coproduction is an inspiring portrait of Tomaž Šalamun, an extraordinary poet, who lived for his art and tirelessly sparked creativity in others.

PORTOROŽ: Sabrina Morena’s first long documentary Identity Dilemma / Vprašanje identitete will be screened in the competition of the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (17-22 September 2019). This Slovenian/Italian coproduction is a story about searching for national identity.

PORTOROŽ: Matej Nahtigal's sophomore feature Corporation / Korporacija will be screened in the competition of the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (17-22 September 2019). This Slovenian/Croatian coproduction is a crime drama aesthetically inspired by "neo-noir" and conspiracy thrillers from the 1970s.

PORTOROŽ: Siniša Gačić's long documentary Daughter of Camorra / Hči Camorre will be screened in the competition of the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (17-22 September 2019). The film is a Slovenian/Italian coproduction.

PORTOROŽ: Damjan Kozole's feature film Half-Sister / Polsestra will screen in the competition of the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (17-22 September 2019). Urša Menart, who won two Vesna awards for her debut feature My Last Year as a Loser (2018, Vertigo), plays the main role in this Slovenian/ Macedonian/Serbian/Croatian coproduction.

PORTOROŽ: Andrej Košak's fourth feature film All Aginst All / Vsi proti vsem will screen in the competition of the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (17-22 September 2019). This Slovenian/Macedonian/Croatian coproduction is a political thriller drama set in an imaginary small town under the Alps.

PORTOROŽ: Miran Zupanič’s long documentary Sing Me a Song / Poj mi pesem will be screened in the competition of the 22nd Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (17-22 September 2019). This Slovenian/Bosnian coproduction portrays the famous Slovenian musician Vlado Kreslin.
