PORTOROŽ: Darko Sinko's Inventory / Inventura will be screened in the competition of the 24th Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (12 - 17 October 2021). This drama with elements of thriller and black comedy is Sinko's first feature film.
LJUBLJANA: Six new Slovenian feature films and four long documentaries will be screened in the competition of the 24th Festival of Slovenian Film, which will run in Portorož 12 - 18 October 2021 with a new director Bojan Labović and a new council presided by Jelka Stergel.
PORTOROŽ: Marija Zidar’s first long documentary Reconciliation / Odpuščanje will be screened in the competition of the 24th Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož (12 - 17 October 2021). This Slovenian/Serbian/Montenegrin/Kosovan coproduction supported by Eurimages is a story that tackles the topic of blood feuds in Albania.
PRODUCTION: Petra Seliškar Shoots French/Slovenian/Macedonian Documentary Land of Sar
Slovenia 22-09-2021LJUBLJANA: Petra Seliškar is currently shooting her sixth documentary Land of Sar / Dežela Šarplaninca in the Solunska Glava mountains, in North Macedonia. This French/Slovenian/Macedonian coproduction follows three teenagers spending their summer in the mountains, looking after sheep with the help of shepherd dogs.
LJUBLJANA: Peter Bratuša has started shooting Gaja’s World 2 / Gajin svet 2, the sequel to the well-received romantic teen adventure comedy and Slovenian 2018 box-office hit. The 27-days shooting is taking place at several locations in Ljubljana and on the Slovenian coast (Ankaran) in August and September 2021.
PRODUCTION: Ivan Gergolet Starts Shooting Slovenian/Italian/Croatian Man Without Guilt
Slovenia 05-07-2021LJUBLJANA: The Italian director Ivan Gergolet has started shooting his first fiction feature Man Without a Guilt / Može brez krivde. The first phase of the shooting for this Slovenian/Italian/Croatian coproduction started in June 2021 and will last till the end of July. The second is planned for November 2021.
LJUBLJANA: Most Slovenian art houses have already reopened, while the COVID-19 situation is less and less restrictive, whereas cineplexes, with the exception of Maribox, are still waiting, as the food and beverage consumption is still not allowed.
LJUBLJANA: Matej Vranič completed his long documentary Wild Slovenia / Divja Slovenija, which will be released in Slovenian arthouse cinemas by Fivia in September 2021. The film also has an English version.
LJUBLJANA: The 24th Festival of Slovenian Film returns to Portorož with a new director Bojan Labović. The festival will take place 11-17 October 2021 and the submissions for the applications will be open in the second half of June 2021.
LJUBLJANA: Slovenian cinemas refused to re-open after a recent decision of the Government to ease restrictions only till 2 May 2021. The only exception is Kinodvor, which re-opened on 26 April 2021.
