PORTOROŽ: The Slovenian/Croatian drama Ivan by Janez Burger will be screened in the competition of the 20th Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož (12-16 September 2017). Maruša Majer, the Slovenian Shooting Star 2017, plays the lead role.

PORTOROŽ: Marko Naberšnik’s fourth feature film Slovenia, Australia and Tomorrow the World / Slovenija, Avstralija in jutri ves svet will be screened in the competition of the 20th Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož (12-16 September 2017). Naberšnik gained his first success with the Slovenian box office national hit Rooster's Breakfast (2007, Arsmedia) and has been also active in television since 1999.

LJUBLJANA: The youth comedy Let Him Be a Basketball Player / Košarkar naj bo by Boris Petkovič will be screened in the competition of the 20th Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož (12-16 September 2017). The film is crafted after the well-known book by Primož Suhadolčan, who also penned the screenplay.

PORTOROŽ: The Slovenian/Serbian drama The Basics of Killing / Družinica directed by the acclaimed Slovenian director Ian Cvitkovič, will be screened in the competition of the 20th Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož (12-16 September 2017). The film got the best actress award for Irena Kovačevič at the Montreal World Film Festival (24 August – 4 September 2017).

PORTOROŽ: Rok Biček’s documentary drama The Family / Družina will be screened in the competition of the 20th Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož (12-16 September 2017). The film premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, where it received the main prize SRG/SSR in the Critics Week section.

PORTOROŽ: The documentary They Were Tito's Towns / Bila so Titova mesta by Amir Muratović will be screened in the competition of the 20th Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož (12-16 September 2017). The film was shot across all the ex-Yugoslavia countries.

PORTOROŽ: Igor Šmid's sophomore feature Ana’s Commission / Anina provizija will be screened in the competition of the 20th Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož (12-16 September 2017). The film stars the Slovenian journalist, publicist and writer Vesna Milek.

PORTOROŽ: Eleven feature films will be screened in the competition of the 20th Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož, which will run from 12 to 16 September 2017. The Badjura Lifetime Achievement Award will go to the producer Franci Zajc.

LJUBLJANA: Trilogy Intrigo directed by Daniel Alfredson and starring Ben Kingsley has wrapped its shoot in Slovenia, which ran May to August 2017. This German/US/Belgian coproduction serviced by Slovenia's Pakt Media d.o.o. was the first foreign production benefitting from the rebate scheme launched in Slovenia in 2017.

LJUBLJANA: My Last Year as a Loser / Ne bom več luzerka by Urša Menart will start shooting on 6 September 2017. The story of a 29-year-old unemployed girl, who is stuck in the midst of Slovenia's seemingly never-ending economic crisis, is Menart’s debut feature.
