WARSAW: The first documentary about Robert Lewandowski, one of the greatest strikers in the history of football, is currently in postproduction and will premiere internationally on Amazon Prime Video in 2023. The film, which doesn’t have a title yet, is directed by Maciej Kowalczuk and was commissioned by Amazon Prime Video from Papaya Films, one the largest production houses in Poland.

WARSAW: The fifth instalment of the Polish hit holiday rom-com series Letters to Santa / Listy do M. has surpassed a million admissions in Poland. The film directed by Łukasz Jaworowski is not only the most watched Polish film of 2022, but also the biggest success of a Polish production since the beginning of the pandemic.

WARSAW: Johnny directed by Daniel Jaroszek has already racked up over 800,000 admissions in Polish cinemas since its release on 23 September 2022. This result has given the film a clear first place among the domestic films in the box office in 2022.

WARSAW: Maciej Kawulski’s new feature film Mr. Blot's Academy / Akademia Pana Kleksa, based on the bestselling children's novel by Jan Brzechwa and currently in production, will be divided into two parts. Polish viewers will see the first one at the end of 2023, but before that an entire metaverse, including NFTs related to the title, will be created.

GDYNIA: The 47th Polish Film Festival Gdynia, that took place 12-27 September 2022, awarded its top prize of Golden Lion for Best Film to the Polish/UK drama The Silent Twins directed by Agnieszka Smoczyńska.

GDYNIA: The war drama Young Eagles / Orlęta. Grodno '39 by writer/director Krzysztof Łukaszewicz is running in the main competition of the Gdynia Film Festival, taking place 12-17 September 2022. It is the first feature film about the aggression of Soviet troops against Poland in September 1939.

GDYNIA: Jacek Lusiński’s drama Backwards / Śubuk, based on a true story about a young mother of an autistic boy, whose struggle with bureaucracy led to changes in the Polish education system, runs in the main competition of the Gdynia Film Festival, taking place 12-17 September 2022.

The film premiered internationally at the 21st Tribeca IFF, where it won the Best Actress Prize (Dorota Pomykała).
