PRODUCTION: Bulgarian/Hungarian Axis of Life Qualifies for Newly Launched Cash Rebate in Bulgaria
Bulgaria 25-11-2022SOFIA: The privately financed Bulgarian/Hungarian Axis of Life directed by Atanas Hristoskov and produced by Invictus in coproduction with the Ganges Indian-Hungarian Cultural Foundation, is one of the first productions approved for cash rebate in Bulgaria since the country launched its cash rebate scheme in January 2022. The project expects to receive over 100,000 EUR, which is 25% of the qualification costs during the shooting in Bulgaria in the early autumn of 2022.
SOFIA: Bulgaria’s main autumn event Cinemania (Kinomania) will take place in the towns of Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna between 17 November and 4 December 2022.

Bulgaria 03-11-2022SOFIA: Following a summer/autumn shooting carried out in three steps in Bulgaria, London and Beverly Hills, the new dramatic thriller The Wheels of Heaven, produced by Dessy Tenekedjieva’s Sofia based Black Sea Film in association with UK’s Goldfinch, entered postproduction in London.
SOFIA: The eminent writer, director and screenwriter Angel Wagenstein, who turned 100 years old on 17 October 2022, was celebrated during the 8th edition of the International Book & Movie Festival CineLibri.
SOFIA: The 8th edition of the International Book & Film Festival CineLibri will screen 60 fresh film adaptations between 8 and 30 October 2022. Having rapidly gained importance on the Bulgarian festival map, the upcoming edition will take place under the motto “Time Regained”.
VARNA: Zornitsa Sophia’s Bulgarian/German/Croatian coproduction Mother was awarded Best Film at the 40th anniversary Golden Rose National Film Festival (23 - 29 September 2022). Krum Rodriguez, who shot the film in Bulgaria and Kenya, won the Best Cinematography Award, while Daria Simeonova received the Best Actress Award for the same film.
VARNA: Victor Bojinov’s third feature film Escape aka Chamla will screen in the main competition of the 40th Anniversary Golden Rose National Film Festival (23 – 29 September 2022).
VARNA: Georgi Kostov’s Speculators will screen in the main competition of the 40th Anniversary Golden Rose National Film Festival (23 – 29 September 2022). The film is considered to be the first Bulgarian financial thriller.
VARNA: Niki Iliev’s Reunion Part 2 will screen in the main competition of the 40th Anniversary Golden Rose National Film Festival (23 – 29 September 2022). The film is a sequel of Iliev’s 2019 box office hit Reunion.
