NICOSIA: Myrsini Aristidou’s debut feature Hold Onto Me / Κράτα Με has been selected as Cyprus' first-ever candidate for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

ZAGREB: God Will Not Help / Bog neće pomoći (Croatia, Italy, Romania, Greece, France, Slovenia) by Hana Jušić has been selected by the Filmmakers’ Association of Croatia as Croatia’s candidate for the 99th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

SKOPJE: Kosara Mitić’s debut feature 17  has been selected as North Macedonia’s candidate for the 99th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia.

SOFIA: Nina Roza by Geneviève Dulude-De Celles has been selected as Canada’s candidate for the 99th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between Canada, Italy, Bulgaria, and Belgium.

TALLINN: German Golub’s debut feature Our Erika / Meie Erika has been selected as Estonia’s candidate for the 99th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the Best International Feature Film category. The Estonian/Lithuanian/Latvian coproduction tells the story of Olympic track cyclist Erika Salumäe, who won Estonia's first Olympic gold after the country regained its independence.

RIGA: Viesturs Kairišs' biographical film Ulya / Uļa has been selected as Latvia’s candidate for the 99th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between Latvia, Estonia, Poland, and Lithuania.

BUCHAREST: Palm d’or 2026 winner Fjord, directed by Cristian Mungiu and starring Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve, has qualified for the 99th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the Best International Feature Film category.

BRATISLAVA: Martin Gonda’s debut feature Flood / Potopa has been selected as Slovakia’s contender for the 99th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the Best International Feature Film category.
