As part of the 31st edition of the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Le Havre, from September 1 to 5, 2025, the the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC) and Unifrance will present their annual report on the export of French audiovisual programs.

FNE spoke to Romanian director Mihai Mincan, whose film Milk Teeth is screening in the Orizzonti Competition in Venice this year.

The 31st Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Le Havre, the world's largest market dedicated to French audiovisual programs, will take place from September 1 to 5. During this flagship event for the sector, nearly 150 buyers from some 40 countries will be able to discover more than 500 audiovisual programs covering all genres (fiction, animation, documentary, live performance, and entertainment), presented by 51 distributors of French audiovisual works.

Four French films, directed by Olivier Assayas, Kaouther Ben Hania, Valérie Donzelli, and François Ozon will fly the French colors in Competition at the 82nd Venice Film Festival. 

Initiated by Unifrance in 2014, the 10 to Watch initiative aims to support the emergence of new French film artists in the international arena by raising their profiles beyond French borders (through contact with journalists, festival selectors, distributors, and foreign audiences) and thereby contribute to the constant renewal of French cinema icons.

BUCHAREST: The French Institute in Romania is launching in Bucharest the Film Therapy Film Club, which will pinpoint mental health and social challenges, with a focus on youth problems.

RIGA: The Architect’s Cut section of the Riga International Film Festival’s (RIGA IFF, 16 - 26 October 2025) will be dedicated to the image and architecture of Paris on screen.

The 23rd Franco-German Film Meetings, organized by Unifrance, the Académie Franco-Allemande du Cinéma, and German Films, will take place on October 8 and 9, 2025 in Paris, and will bring together committed professionals from the French, German, and European film industries to discuss current developments in our sector and imagine new perspectives together.

BELGRADE: Serbian actress and director Mirjana Karanović is the patron of the 2025 edition of the French Film Festival in Belgrade, which is organised by the French Institute 25 – 29 June, and 3 – 6 July 2025.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: France is taking part in the 24th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF, 13 – 22 June 2025) with films in several programmes, professionals in juries and industry events, and also with the 12th edition of the Young Francophones Jury Competition.

TBILISI: The French Institute of Georgia has launched a new edition of Cinema Under the Stars festival, featuring French films screened free of charge every Thursday till 31 July 2025.

ANNECY: FNE spoke to Hungarian producer Orsolya Sipos about Kati Glaser's upcoming 60-minute animated TV special Three Wishes / Három kívánság, which is a participant in the Hungarian Animation Pitch Forum at the Annecy International Animation Festival (8 – 14 June 2025). The project is a coproduction between Hungary, Czech Republic and Latvia.
