US In Progress is the first industry event devoted to US-indies in Europe. The event was started in 2011 in Wrocław by the New Horizons Association and Black Rabbit Film and then expanded to Paris, where it was part of Sophie Dulac’s Champs-Elysées Film Festival (6 - 12 June 2012).
The Paris edition attracted more than 50 distributors, producers and sales agents from the whole world, who watched 4 US independent films screened in full at post-production stage. The winning film was A Teacher by Hannah Fidell produced by Kim Sherman (Sun don’t shine). It was awarded the US in Progress Prize, comprising a digital post-production package given by Commune Image & Eaux Vives, subtitling and DCP by Titra Film, acquisition by the TV Channel CINE+, promotion via Europa Distribution and Touscoprod and an invitation to the Producers Network 2013.
Other films screened at the event were I am I by Jocelyn Towne, produced by Cora Olson & Jen Dubin, House of Last Things by Michael Bartlett, produced by Rene Berndt, starring Lindsey Haun (True Blood) and RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad) and finally Desert Cathedral by Travis Gutiérrez Senger, produced by Michael J. Mouncer & Chip Hourihan (Frozen River).
The second edition of US in Progress Wroclaw will take place during
the 3. American Film Festival in Wrocław (13-18 Nov 2012). Projects for
