3. American Film Festival in Wrocław, Poland (13-18 Nov), the first event in Eastern and Central Europe focused entirely on independent American cinema, pays tribute to two great American filmmakers: Jerry Schatzberg and Wes Anderson.
Jerry Schatzberg, the legendary director and accomplished photographer, will be a special festival guest. He will receive the annual Indie Star award, given by the festival to helmers of American independent cinema (first one given to Todd Solondz in 2011). The festival will screen his most important films including Puzzle of a Downfall Child, The Panic in Needle Park and Scarecrow.
The festival’s other focus will be on Wes Anderson. Apart from his cult films, such as The Royal Tenenbaums and Fantastic Mr. Fox, the audience in Wrocław will see the Polish Premiere of Cannes’ opening film Moonrise Kingdom starring Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray and Tilda Swinton.
Festival industry and press accreditations are on sale until 5th November 2012. You can order them here.
