The festival’s name remains the same: on 31 January the Hungarian agency of Jameson Irish Whiskey and the representatives of the Miskolc International Film Festival signed an agreement on another 3 years of cooperation. Dr. Ákos Kriza, Mayor of Miskolc and MP Katalin Csöbör were also present at the ceremonious meeting. In the resent years, the name Jameson CineFest has become a true brand, synonym for brand new, fine movies and the unique festival experience in Hungary.

Among others, Benh Zeitlin’s Beasts of the Southern Wild, which was nominated for four Oscars a few weeks ago, introduced itself to the Hungarian audience at Jameson CineFest in the presence of the director, who now, together with Steven Spielberg, Michael Haneke and Ang Lee, is in the exclusive quintet waiting for theAcademy Award for the Best Direction. 

The success story continues: this year’s jubilee 10th festival is going to be one day longer, and will include more films, more programs, stars and concerts. Hungary’s best film event is not only the good example for arts patronage useful for both parties but also strengthens the international reputation of Hungarian culture. 10th Jameson CineFest is waiting for you between 12 and 22 September.
