Jameson CineFest (Sept 12-21, 2014), known for its interest and focus on animation films, dedicates a special place to Slovak animation within “Slovak Animation Days” during its 11th edition. Joining forces with the Slovak Film Institute, CineFest presents 4 sessions of altogether 32 short and middle-length animation films, a selection curated to give a comprehensive overview of the history and today´s various faces of Slovak animation art (period of 1960s until these days). In addition, the all-time animation classics, feature-length The Bloody Lady by Viktor Kubal will be shown in a special late-night screening.

Spain: Slovak Films in San Sebastian´s Portrait of Eastern Europe
A special retrospective section Eastern Promises. Portrait of Eastern Europe in 50 films is a part of the 62nd San Sebastian IFF(Sept 19 – 27, 2014)programme, which introduces 50 films produced since 2000 in the countries that lived under Soviet influence post-World War II, including Slovakia. Our talents, which emerged in the respective period will be presented with the works by Mira Fornay (My Dog Killer), Zuzana Liová (The House) and Peter Kerekes (Cooking History). Mira and Peter will be presenting their films in person.
