1. Warsaw Grand Prix, the main prize of the International Competition, founded by City of Warsaw : THE COFFIN IN THE MOUNTAIN / BINGUAN, dir. Xin Yukun (China)

For a challenging narrration and a very subtle sense of black humour, the Warsaw Grand Prix is granted to THE COFFIN IN THE MOUNTAIN with a special mention for Lu Nifan (writer of the original story) and Feng Yuahliang and Xiu Yukon (for the screenplay)

2. Best Director:Ognjen Sviličić for the film THESE ARE THE RULES / TAKVA SU PRAVILA (Croatia, France, Serbia, Macedonia)
For a profound sensitivity and a masterful consequence in displaying the human struggle against bureaucracy and indifference.

3. Special Jury Award: for the CAST of the film CARMINA Y AMEN / CARMINA & AMEN, dir. Paco León (Spain)
The whole cast of „Carmina & Amen”  deserves a collective prize, masterfully proving themselves in the very difficult skill of acting in a black comedy.

For its simple elegant yet multi layered structure that allows us to be charmed by its light yet deliberate treatment.

THE LESSON / UROK, dir. Kristina Grozeva, Petar Valchanov (Bulgaria, Greece)

For its brilliant and thoughtful exploration of pride and its exceptional directing.

FREE SPIRIT COMPETITION

For the most free-spirited film.

For the successful attempt to marry mainstream to an artistic indie.

DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION

TOTO AND HIS SISTERS / TOTO SI SURORILE LUI, dir. Alexander Nanau (Romania)
We appreciate its masterful directing, exellent dramaturgy, intimacy with characters and the way it confronts social problems yet remains inspiring.

Special Mention: CROSSROADS / PEREKRESTOK, dir. Anastasiya Miroshnichenko (Belorus, Sweden)
For its Franciscan philosophy and the director`s ability to achieve a powerful effect with small means.

SHORT FILMS COMPETITION

- Short Grand Prix for the best short film – CUPCAKE, dir. Jane Magnusson (Sweden)
For a strong story with an honest and intimate approach to the characters and their relationship which is supported by powerful cinematography and acting

-   Best Animated Short – THE TIDE KEEPER, dir. Alyx Duncan (New Zeland)

For thrilling atmosphere in an oneiric surrounding and visually striking film with a strong intimacy and a wise use of animation

- Best Live Action Short – DRAMA, dir. Guan Tian (USA)

For smart use of a film language that combines a simple yet humoristic story with a good choreography and emphatic characters.

- Best Documentary Short – MY DAD'S A ROCKER, dir. Zuxin Hou (China)
For casting a light on an inspiring man who shows us his true meaning of Rock and Life with a sincere approach from the director.

FIPRESCI Award

The Jury FIPRESCI members:Pamela Cohn (USA), Hanna Margolis (Poland), Michael Pattison (UK)gave the award for best debut from Eastern Europe to the film:

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD / CE LUME MINUNATĂ, dir. Anatol Durbală (Moldova).

The jury wishes to acknowledge a director whose feature début shows much promise with an urgency and intensity in its storytelling out of a country with virtually no film industry since its independence in 1991. A deceptively spare take on a wrong-place-at-the-wrong-time scenario, the film deftly weaves events of a violent populist uprising by the young generation whose time has come to display their rage and mistrust of a corrupt and backward-looking government, leading to a shocking climax for its unwitting protagonist.

ECUMENICAL JURY Award

The Ecumenical Jury members: Rev. Jes Nysten (Denmark), Samuel Petit (France), Rafał Wieczyński (Poland) gave the award to the film:

IN THE CROSSWIND / RISTTUULES, dir. Martti Helde (Estonia)

The film is a cinematic requiem. Erna is an Estonian woman writing to her arrested husband and telling the story about her deportation to Siberia. With a firm grip of the technical possibilities: specially the walk among the living sculptures, the director lifts the story to a higher dimension - to a contemplation of suffering, human eternal dignity and hope through an artful combination of pictures, words and music.  A requiem for all the innocent people from Eastern Europe, who have suffered or died from oppression of the soviet tyranny. We are not allowed to forget...

NETPAC Award

The NETPAC Jury members: Dr Rashmi Doraiswamy (India), Jagoda Murczyńska (Poland), Yuka Sakano (Japan) gave the award for the best Asian film to:

SIZDAH / 13, dir. Hooman Seyedi (Iran)

For its daring approach in representing the much-depicted theme of the young adult in Iranian cinema and its unique style in expressing social rage and gender issues through the life of a family.
