First time Leos Carax visited Vilnius International Film Festival in 1996. After 18 years he came back to Vilnius to meet the audience and to promote his future retrospective. The program puts together all Leos Carax’s films – from the Alex trilogy: “Boy meets girl” (1984), “The night is young” (“Mauvais sang”, 1986), “The Lovers on the Bridge” (“Les amants du Pont-Neuf”, 1991), his later film “Pola X” (1999) to his latest “Holy Motors” (2012). The retrospective will also include Tessa Louise-Salomé’s documentary film on Leos Carax “Mr. X” (2014). The audience will have a great opportunity to experience the unique worlds and a particular style of filmmaking that Leos Carax created during twenty years of his career.
Vilnius International Film Festival “Kino Pavasaris” will celebrate its twenty years anniversary on March 19th – April 2nd, 2015.
“Kino Pavasaris” is the largest cinematic event in Lithuania, known and loved for its high quality film programme and rich accompanying package of cinema-related events, workshops, and special initiatives. In March every year, Vilnius IFF presents more than 200 films. In 2014 more than 99 789 people attended the festival – a really impressive number in a country of less than 3 million people.
