Dot.on.the.map Industry Days announces SELECTED PROJECTS for its second online edition

    In the framework of the 19th Cyprus Film Days International Festival 2021
    and in partnership with Thessaloniki International Film Festival Agora

    Dot on the Μap Industry Days, the co-production, training and networking platform within Cyprus Film Days IFF will be held online between 21-23 April 2021, and announces this year’s selected feature fiction film projects to be pitched at its co-production forum-Dot on the Map Meeting Point.

    Dot on the Map Industry Days is organised by the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth and the Rialto Theatre in partnership with Thessaloniki International Film Festival Agora. It is supported by the Directors Guild of Cyprus.

    Seven teams of producers - directors with projects originating from countries of the Mediterranean Sea will "pitch" their new feature film projects to representatives of the international film industry. Following group works and individual meetings, the filmmakers will take steps towards forming future collaborations between other filmmakers, international producers, financiers, sales agents, broadcasters, distributors, festival and film fund representatives.

    Dot on the Map Industry Days provides an excellent opportunity to network with industry professionals from across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa in order to explore co-production and distribution opportunities, discuss new projects in development, and pursue crossborder collaborations.

    The organisation received project submissions from across the countries of the Mediterranean Sea. The evaluation committee, has chosen seven (7) fiction feature film projects, at development stage. The following projects were selected for the year 2021:

    - Lives of Hamid, Writers: Jonathan Millet & Florence Rochat, Director: Jonathan Millet, Producer: Pauline Seigland, Production Company: Films Grand Huit, Country: France
    - The Hive, Writer - Director: Marco Pellegrino, Producer: Giada Mazzoleni, Production Company: Paguro Film Ltd, Countries: UK, Italy
    - Longer Will Be the Night, Writer - Director: Latifa Said, Producer: Richard Djoudi, Production Company: Show Guest Entertainment, Countries: Algeria, France, Qatar
    - Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, Writer - Director: Mohamed Samir, Producer: Marwa Abdalla, Production Company: DayDream Art Production, Countries: Egypt, France
    - Philax, Writer - Director: Rûken Tekes, Producers: Balam Bingül & Billur Arikan, Production Company: Sarya Films Collective, Country: Turkey

    The tutor for the pitching sessions is Isabelle Fauvel (Initiative Film, Special advisor on film development, France). The pitching sessions will be presented to industry experts -
    producers, sales agents, and film festival representatives, with significant activity in the international film industry.

    The awards for this year are as follows:

    - Best Project: Color correction and DCP Mastering Services worth of €11,000.00, offered by Full Moon Productions* and a cash prize €500, offered by the Directors Guild of Cyprus to the director of the winning project.

    - Agora Networking Award of Thessaloniki IFF: The award includes accommodation and free market accreditation and is awarded to the producer of a project as selected
    by the jury.

    The organiser's; vision is the development of this initiative into a dynamic platform for artistic and financial collaborations, which will contribute to the development of the art of filmmaking in Cyprus and the wider region, serving as a hub for films originating from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
