JAN ŠVANKMAJER’S LATEST FILM AT THE 26TH JI.HLAVA

We are happy to announce the first programme highlight of this year’s edition: The latest film by legendary Czech surrealist filmmaker Jan Švankmajer entitled Kunstkamera. The two-hour director’s cut will be presented in a world premiere. "The historical experience says that each kunstkamera made until today was sold or stolen or destroyed after the death of its creator. My collection will undoubtedly meet the same fate,” says Jan Švankmajer who is turning eighty this year. Watch the exclusive scene from the film here

PODCAST: DAVID ABRAM – BETWEEN THE HUMAN ANIMAL AND THE ANIMATE EARTH

The Ji.hlava’s Inspiration Forum podcast Screenshot takes a look into the minds of global thinkers whose words and actions help to transform our world. In this special episode cultural ecologist and philosopher David Abram talks about what usually stays unnoticed – the omnipresent invisible mass of air we are immersed in. He talks about the air as an organ of the Earth, its sacredness; about climate as the commonwealth of breath as well as about the affinity between air and awareness.
