The third edition of the international Silver Frame Film Festival will take place from July 16 to 19, 2026. Through film, education, and cultural exchange, the festival connects people, communities, and generations.

Over four festival days, Srebrenica and Bratunac will become a hub for a rich film, educational, and cultural programme, featuring feature and short films, competitive selections, workshops, and various masterclasses. The programme will be held at the Cultural Centre of Srebrenica, Cultural Centre of Bratunac, Cinema Room Emmaus, Open Air Cinema Emmaus, as well as along the Drina River.

One of the most significant highlights of this year’s edition is the first Silver Frame Doc Academy, bringing together young filmmakers from across Europe. With the support of international mentors, participants will develop and produce four documentary films inspired by the people, stories, and everyday life of this region.

The festival also continues the Silver Frame Green Film Residency programme, dedicated to ecology, sustainable development, and filmmaking by emerging authors, who will develop and shoot their films in direct contact with the local community. This year’s film programme includes a competitive selection of short films, student films, the Green Short Film selection, and the Shorts Spotlight programme. Audiences will also have the opportunity to watch a number of feature films produced in collaboration with international partners, including the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Sarajevo, Doxumentale Berlin, Goethe-Institut Bosnia and Herzegovina, Institut Français de Bosnie-Herzégovine, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Trieste Film Festival, MedFilm Festival Rome, and the Sarajevo Film Festival.

The festival also organizes acting workshops, youth education programmes, masterclasses, the “Travelling to France” programme, as well as gatherings of participants and audiences, including camping evenings and film discussions. The festival continues its mission to build spaces of encounter through the art of film and aims to present Srebrenica and Bratunac as places of culture, creativity, and international cooperation.

“Coming to Srebrenica and Bratunac, the festival aims to shape and educate new generations in a space without cinemas and without the habit of collective film viewing. In such an environment, it grows into more than an artistic event — becoming a space of encounter, understanding, learning, love, and friendship,” says Ado Hasanović, Artistic Director of the Festival.

The festival is organized by the Association Admon Film in cooperation with the International Forum of Solidarity EMMAUS, as well as local and international partners.
