35th POLISH FILM FESTIVAL - info

    Norway and Iceland in Poland
    35th Polish Film Festival will be accompanied by Norwegian Films Review and Icelandic Films Review. 12 films will be screened in total, 7 Icelandic and 5 Norwegian. All films presented to Polish audience were produced over the years 2006-2009 and have not been shown in Poland before. The screenings will be accompanied by meetings with artists: directors, screenwriters, producers and actors. Information about the films is available on our website: www.festiwalgdynia.pl

    All accredited festival guests are invited to enjoy a great musical event, which accompanies the reviews. On 27 May 2010 at 8:00 p.m. in the marquee on Gdynia Center Beach, there will be a concert of Jan Garbarek Group.

    The events are supported by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway by financial contribution from European Economic Area Financial Mechanism and Norway Financial Mechanism.

    Awards
    We are pleased to announce that the 34th Polish Film Festival was nominated for the Award of Polish Film Institute in the category of "national film event". The winner will be announced on 26 May during Polish Film Institute awards ceremony, which will be held in Sopot.

    We are happy to announce that the Director of the Polish Film Festival - Leszek Kopeć has been awarded Gdynia Galion, artistic award for the year 2009 from the Mayor of Gdynia, for promoting culture and for lifetime achievements. The latest initiative by Leszek Kopeć is establishment of Gdynia Film School.
