It was an epic night in Cluj for Argentinian Miguel Cohan: after having won the Best Screenplay Award earlier, he also went on stage to claim the Transilvania Trophy from the hands of Jacqueline Bisset, for his debut feature No Return / Sin Retorno. The Best Directing Award went ex-aequo to Rúnar Rúnarsson, for Volcano and Constantin Popescu, for Principles of Life. Stefan Laudyn, Stefan Kitanov, Nikolaj Nikitin, Stefan Uhrik and Tudor Giurgiu delivered an anniversary sketch on the begiing of the show, while Uberto Passolini shocked everyone showing up on stage in the festival's official football kit.
