FESTIVALS: The 35th Golden Rose Film Festival Announces Lineup

    VARNA: A total of 16 feature films will be screened in the national official competition of the 35th Golden Rose National Film Festival (30 September-7 October 2017). Five feature films and two short films with Bulgarian minority participation will be screened in the new programme Minority Coproductions Focus.

    Five of the films from the official competition are majority coproductions, seven are debut features and three are low budget films. Only two of them are independent productions, the rest of them is supported by the Bulgarian National Film Center. The Bulgarian National Television is involved as a coproducer in three films.

    A total of 26 films will be screened in the Short Films Competition, most of them supported by the Bulgarian National Film Center.

    The non-competitive programme Open Horizons will consist of 13 short films and one long feature film.

    The Golden Rose National Film Festival is organised by the Bulgarian National Film Center in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Bulgarian National Television and the Bulgarian Film Library.
