SOFIA: The Caretaker Bulgarian Minister of Culture Velislav Minekov dismissed Jana Karaivanova from her post of executive director of the Bulgarian National Film Center on 17 June 2021. The name of the new executive director has not been announced yet.
Actress Jana Karaivanova was appointed at the end of 2017 for a five-year mandate, which has now been prematurely terminated.
Velislav Minekov was appointed on 12 May 2021 by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev’s Caretaker government, which will govern the country until the next early Parliamentary elections on 11 July 2021.
