Czech Film Fund chief Helena Frankova is candidate for Czech Minister of Culture post


    PRAGUE: The director of the Czech State Fund for Cinema Helena Fraňková is one of the front-running candidates for the post of Minister of Culture according to reports in the Czech press.

    Fraňková worked as the head of the Czech Media and Audiovisual department and she also worked on the new Film Act and the new system of financial incentives for filmmakers.  Before working in the government she worked in film production and brought considerable knowledge of the film industry to her post.

    According to local press reports Fraňková has already been offered the post but she has not confirmed if she will accept the offer yet.
