Czech Attendance Dips

    PRAGUE: Czech film attendance fell slightly in 2013, according to the Union of Film Distributors.

    Attendance reached 11,057,559 compared to 11,181,851 in 2012. Attendance had reached a seven-year low in 2005, coming in at under 9.6 m, and peaked in 2010 at nearly 10.8 m.

    Box office fared better, reaching 1.424 billion CZK. It was the second highest box office in Czech history, bested only by box office of nearly 1.5 billion CZK in 2010. The 2005 low-point was 854 m CZK.

    The average ticket price rose to 125 CZK, up from 114 CZK in 2012, due to the increased prices of IMAX and 4DX films.
