The story based on a Czech novel by Jaroslav Kmenta follows a mobster who gets rich through tax fraud and pocketing money from oil transactions, and who later tries to gain control of the state-owned petroleum company.

While the first film was set in the Czech Republic, the second follows the gangster after he escapes from the country. Both of the films can be described as a study of the rise and fall of a gangster in the world of organised crime. Jan Pachl, a Czech director with a handful of TV credits, wrote the scripts for both films.

Adam Dvorak produced through Movie in coproduction with Czech TV on both films.

Gangster Ka: African was released by Bioscop on 26 November 2015 and reached the attendance of almost 104,000.
