Hugo Rosak, head of the film industry office, said in a statement, “We are particularly pleased to offer an exciting award to the best Works in Progress project.” The award will include in-kind services at a Czech post-production house valued at 90,000 EUR and a 10,000 EUR cash prize.
In addition, the Eurimages Lab Project will present an award of 50,000 for “daring unconventional projects.” Eight projects selected from among 64 applicants will compete for the prize, including films from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia and Poland.
One of the most popular industry events is the Works in Progress presentation. This year 12 projects coming primarily from CEE territories have been selected. The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Georgia will all be represented.
Another six Czech and Slovak projects have made the cut for the Pitch and Feedback presentation development organised by the Czech Film Center, Slovak Film Institute and Karlovy Vary IFF in co-operation with MIDPOINT.
