source: TV JOJPRAGUE: The Slovak film The Rift / Trhlina by Slovak box office champ Peter Bebjak opened in the fourth place in the Czech Republic, following its impressive 1.6 m EUR haul in Slovakia.
The film, based on a popular book by Slovak author Jozef Karika, is a thriller about mysterious disappearances in a mountain area.
The Rift took in 40,000 EUR in its first week-end in release in the Czech Republic, opening on 9 May 2019. It also had a one week run in the UK, earning under 9,000 EUR. The film was produced by DNA Production and was also produced as a three-part miniseries for Slovak station Joj TV.
